Hand Selected Ingredients Make This Great For Active Aging

Glucosamine Sulfate

Glucosamine is a natural compound found in cartilage — the tough tissue that cushions joints.

In supplement form, glucosamine is harvested from shells of shellfish or made in a lab. There are several forms of glucosamine, including glucosamine sulfate, glucosamine hydrochloride and N-acetyl glucosamine. These supplements aren't considered interchangeable. Oral use of glucosamine sulfate might provide some pain relief for people with osteoarthritis of the knee. Some research shows that it may also help slow knee joint degeneration associated with osteoarthritis.

Indian Frankincense (Boswellia Serrata, herb)

Boswellia, also known as Indian frankincense, is an herbal extract from the Boswellia serrata tree. It may help reduce inflammation and benefit people with certain health conditions.  Studies show that boswellia may reduce inflammation and may be useful in treating the following conditions:

  • osteoarthritis (OA)
  • rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
  • asthma
  • inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)

Because boswellia is an effective anti-inflammatory, it can be an effective painkiller and may prevent the loss of cartilage. Some studies have found that it may even be useful in treating certain cancers, such as leukemia and breast cancer.

Chondroitin Sulfate

Chondroitin sulfate is a compound in the body that helps form hyaline cartilage, a connective tissue that cushions the joints. People commonly take it in supplement form to help with symptoms of osteoarthritis.

Turmeric

Turmeric spice gives curry its yellow color and provides major benefits for the body and brain. Three proven health benefits of tumeric include fighting inflammation, lowering Alzheimers risk, and reducing cancer cell growth.

Quercetin

Quercetin is a pigment that belongs to a group of plant compounds called flavonoids.  They’ve been linked to several health benefits, including reduced risks of heart disease, cancer, and degenerative brain disorders.

The beneficial effects of flavonoids like quercetin come from their ability to function as antioxidants inside your body. Because quercetin has antioxidant properties, it may have cancer-fighting properties.  Research suggests quercetin’s antioxidant properties may help protect against degenerative brain disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and dementia (National Institute of Health).

Methionine

Methionine is an amino acid that is used to build molecules important for cell and DNA function.  These molecules are essential for the proper functioning of your cells.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a sulfur-containing compound found in plants, animals, and humans.  MSM is often used by people looking for a natural way to relieve joint pain, reduce inflammation, and boost immunity. In addition, research supports its use in treating a number of conditions, from arthritis to rosacea.

Bromelain

Bromelain is a protein-digesting enzyme mixture derived from the stem, fruit, and juice of the pineapple plant. It has a centuries-long history of being used to treat medical ailments, primarily throughout Central and South America.

It is currently categorized as a dietary supplement and generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  Bromelain is also used as a digestive aid, for osteoarthritis, and to reduce soreness in aching muscles.
